About us

WHO WE ARE

PRODUCTION FACILITY

production facility.jpg

Ekotrend has developed a new low-temperature catalytic pyrolysis technology — PyroFriction™, which uses friction and cavitation forces to convert biomass into bio-oil and biochar.

We operate a demonstration unit with a processing capacity of 1,000 kg/h, supported by research facilities that enable the testing of a wide range of feedstocks.

In recent years, we have enhanced the technology and are planning to establish a higher-capacity facility for commercial deployment.

OUR
TECHNOLOGY

The technology developed and continuously enhanced by Ekotrend is known as PyroFriction™, a friction-based pyrolysis process. By utilizing friction turbines—cavitation pumps—heat is generated through the combined effects of friction and cavitation, maintaining the measurable process temperature at only 300–350°C.
The process is conducted entirely in the liquid phase, ensuring rapid and uniform energy transfer to biomass particles, which is essential for efficient fast pyrolysis.

We can process any type of forest or agricultural biomass (straw, sawdust, nut shells, sunflower husk, etc.), and by using small amounts of catalysts—which often occur naturally in the feedstock—we can accelerate the process and produce higher-quality products.
